Shekhar Annambhotla, Founder & Director
Shekhar Annambhotla is an ayurvedic specialist who was trained in India and has been practicing and teaching ayurveda worldwide since 1988. Ayurveda is not just a system of alternative medicine, but is actually a comprehensive and ancient science of health. It is Shekhar’s belief that due to the open nature of ayurveda and its timeless principles, it is a boon to those of us living in the modern, stressful world. Shekhar’s mission is to educate and help people live healthier lives with ayurveda. He began his eight-year course of study in ayurveda at the age of 17, first at Nagarjuna University in Andhra Pradesh, India and then at Gujarat Ayurved University in Gujarat, India, where he earned his Masters Degree in Ayurveda. He is also a Licensed Integrative Bodywork and Massage Therapist (LMT) and an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E.R.Y.T.-500) with the Yoga Alliance and an instructor of therapeutic Hatha Yoga, having completed training at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Center in India. Shekhar is also a certified pranic healer and a Reiki Healer.
From 1992 – 1994, Shekhar worked as an Associate Professor at N.K.J. Ayurvedic Medical College (Gulburga University), Bidar, Karnataka State, India. From 1994 – 2001, Shekhar has the opportunity to serve at Maharishi Vedic Schools and Universities in The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Trinidad, Guadeloupe, Jamaica (Caribbean Island), Canada, and the U.S.A. During his extensive travels, he delivered lectures and offered consultations on Ayurveda for health professionals and for the general public. He gave several newspaper interviews and radio talks on Ayurveda and was also interviewed on BBC’s Breakfast Television.
Since 2002, Shekhar has been the Founding Director of Ojas LLC, Ayurveda Wellness Center, in Pennsylvania, USA. He is the Founder, President and Chairman of the Board of Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA) (www.aapna.org). Shekhar served on the Board of Directors for National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) from 2005-2010. He has taught ayurveda courses in many prestigious universities in the United States including University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), University of Medicine & Dentistry in NJ (UMDNJ), Hershey Medical School, Jefferson Medical School and others. He was awarded the “Tathagat International Excellence Award 2011” in Dubai and received the award “Ayurveda Khandantara Sthapanacharya” Award for promoting ayurveda around the globe. Michelle Costantini Michelle received her Ayurveda Food & Nutrition Consultant certificate from the International University of Yoga & Ayurveda, Florida, USA. She studied for the Ayurveda Lifestyle Consultant certificate at the Centro Ayurveda in Genoa, Italy and at the Ayurveda & Yoga Retreat Hospital in Connor, Tamil Nadu, India. Michelle is an Ayurveda Food & Nutrition Consultant at the Twin Ponds Integrative Health Center in Breinigsville, PA. She offers consultations on food choices and cooking alternatives, and suggests simple lifestyle changes that will improve your health by allowing your body to better digest the food you eat and thus assimilate its nutrients. Michelle also offers cooking demonstrations and workshops for individuals or small groups.
Forest Seifert received his Ayurveda Food & Nutrition Consultant certificate from the International University of Yoga & Ayurveda, Florida, USA. He is passionate about various cooking recipes and fond of eating good healthy food. He is very innovative and creative in cooking various vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and lactose free dishes. He is always seeking and learning about the healing qualities of various spices, condiments, foods and he is a firm believer of the ayurvedic system of healing. He is continuing his education in ayurveda to become a lifestyle consultant and a practitioner and he plans to go to India to learn more about ayurveda.
Dr. Richaritha Joy Gundlapalli
Dr. Richa Joy Gundlapalli, MD, FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician and integrative medicine practitioner. She heads the Energy Medicine and Research Department at BElifeTM as well as its Longevity and Weight Management Program. She is also a BEinshapeTM Trainer and Specialist and corporate wellness consultant. Dr. Gundlapalli believes that stress is pandemic and is a hidden factor contributing to many illnesses personally and professionally not only affecting physical, but also mental and emotional turmoil. At BElifeTM, she conducts international workshops and seminars on techniques to revitalize energy, balance emotions and develop focus of mind to help maximize the performance. She also teaches Energy healing Science in a more simplified curriculum for common ailments and as a prevention tool. Dr. Richa is Member of BElife International Medical Board and research team collaborating with health care practitioners and hospitals for research protocols. She has travelled to different parts of the World with Master Del Pe, founder of BElifeTM to do research on longevity science on Super-centenarians. Dr. Gundlapalli’s philosophy is to integrate ancient wisdom with modern science. She is trained in ayurveda, acupuncture and is also a student of anthroposophic medicine. Shehas been sought after as a speaker at several national conventions related to Holistic Health, nutrition and the Environment. She has also been a speaker at Retreats for professionals where she has delivered empowering strategies to help them balance life. She was interviewed in radio and also TV regarding different topics. With her strong commitment to children in need, she co-founded Ashajyothi USA, a non-profit organization for orphans and children with special needs. She has organized and offered her services in free health clinics in developing countries. Dr. Gundlapalli’s vision is to see Energy Medicine being part of all hospitals, specialized healing centers and corporations. She is committed, through her work and training, to bridge the gap between mainstream and comprehensive integrative medicine. Vijay K. Jain, M.D.
Dr. Vijay Jain, M.D.brings more than 30 years of experience in General Surgery and 10 years of focused study of integrative medicine to his engaging integration of traditional/Western medicine with ancient medicine and well-tried systems of healing from different cultures. He has studied mind/body medicine with Dr. Deepak Chopra, MD, Yoga Therapy from Vivekenanda Research Center in Bangalore, India and courses in Ayurveda medicine with Dr. Sunil Joshi in Nagpur, India and courses in Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil in Tucson, AZ. In addition to his surgery practice, Dr. Jain lectures on Ayurveda Principles and Practices, and how to create Optimal Health. Recently, he has become interested in the science of graceful aging as it relates to holistic practices. At present, Dr Jain is Medical Director of Amrit Ayurveda for Total Well-being and conducts all Panchakarma programs and founding directors of International University of Yoga and Ayurveda, Florida, USA.
Michele Jain, RYT, PYT, CHC, RALC
Michele Jain, RYT, PYT, CHC, RALC, Palm Coast, Florida, USA has her degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. She was first introduced to yoga in 1988. In 2001, Michele resigned from her corporate position in order to pursue her study of Yoga. In 2001, Michele received both her 200 Hour Teacher Training Certification and her 500 Hour Professional Yoga Therapist Certification from Integrative Yoga Therapy. In 2006, Michele received an additional 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification from Shiva Shakti Synthesis. Michele is also a Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor. She also completed and received her certification in Amrit Yoga Teacher Training in September 2011 and Amrit Yoga Nidra Facilitator certification in October of 2011. Michele operated Yoga on the Square for five years while she lived in Jamestown, KY. Michele has continued her studies of Yoga and Ayurveda. In August of 2014, Michele received her certification as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant from Amrit Yoga Institute and International University of Yoga and Ayurveda.
Suzanne Ickes has over 20 years of experience working in many areas of the Lehigh Valley including Agency on Aging, the Allentown Health Bureau, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and a dialysis center. Suzanne specialized in child/adolescent weight management and cholesterol reduction. She is the author of The Soluble Fiber Solution at lulu.com. Suzanne has a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nutrition from Penn State University. She established her private practice in 2002 and has been working with people of all ages of achieve better health through medical nutrition therapy
Lisa D. Bryan
Lisa D. Bryan is a Kripalu Professional Level Yoga Teacher (RYT 500), Reiki Level III practitioner, and integrative bodywork therapist. Teaching wellness for 15 years, her passion is to integrate holistic health & spirituality from India & the West. Her group Yoga classes and private sessions are nurturing and joyful! They focus on combining the energy of the present moment to the timeless skills of the past. Her bodywork training includes study of Ayurveda in Kerala, India and at Lehigh Valley Healing Arts Academy. Lisa has previously taught at West end Racquet, and Yoga & Health in Bethlehem. She is currently adjunct faculty at DeSales University, teaching at area churches, and at Open Heart Yoga. Clients are welcome to receive care in their home or her studio space. She is inspired by her Yoga master teacher, Michael Carroll, her spiritual director, Br. Dr. Bernard Seif, and the legacy of prana masters Swami Kripalu and Sensei Usui. Lisa is also a graduate of Bates College with degrees in Music & French and is a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association, Yoga Alliance, and Spiritual Directors International. She is a student at Moravian Theological Seminary studying Spiritual Formation.
Neeraj Lal has studied Reiki to the Master Teacher level and has worked with children, adults and the elderly in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area. He is looking forward to helping clients attain good health through the balancing effect of Reiki. He has studied various Eastern healing methods including Reiki, Yoga and Ayurveda. During a personalized Reiki consultation, Neeraj works with the client to educate him or her about the Eastern healing art of Reiki and discusses its various health and healing benefits. Clients fill out a health history questionnaire and self-evaluation of their present health condition. Neeraj and his client discuss the questionnaire and address any questions or concerns. The Reiki session will then be tailored to meet the client’s health needs.
