Hands-On Ayurvedic Marma Therapy for Self-Care, Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat, Bahamas, November 17 – 19, 2026

Discover the ancient science of Marma Therapy for Self-care—a powerful Ayurvedic healing practice that works directly with the body’s vital energy points to restore balance, vitality, and inner harmony. Marmas are sacred junctions where muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, and joints converge, and where Prana, the life force, is believed to reside. These points connect the physical body with the subtle energy system, linking the Nadis (energy channels) and Chakras, much like acupressure points in traditional healing systems. When stress, toxins, or unresolved emotions accumulate, these energy centers can become blocked, leading to pain, fatigue, and chronic imbalance. In this immersive and practical training, you will learn how to activate and clear Marma points using traditional Ayurvedic techniques such as conscious touch, therapeutic oils, warmth, herbal and aromatic applications, and sound vibrations. This hands-on experience empowers you to care for your own energy system and support healing in others. What makes this program special:This training offers a rare opportunity to learn authentic Marma Therapy in a serene, yogic environment, integrating wisdom from Ayurveda, Yoga, and Meditation into practical, accessible techniques. What you will learn:• A clear overview of Ayurveda• The main energy principles and vital Marma points• Classification, location, and functions of Marmas• The relationship between Marmas and Chakras• How to use essential oils and aromatherapy on key points• Practical, applied Marma Therapy techniques Focused on self-care, this program offers a profound path to healing, self-awareness, and energetic renewal. Marmas are secret vital points of the body and mind, the seat for consciousness, and the energy reservoirs. Marmas are junction points of muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, and joints. The seat of Prana (vital energy) resides in the Marmas. Marmas are important key energy centers in Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation. Marmas connect to various subtle nerves (Nadis) and energy wheels (Chakras) and resemble the acupressure points. The life force (Prana) situates in the Marma points. Toxins, stress and negative emotions can get blocked in the marma points for years, leading to pain, energy blockage, swelling and various kinds of illnesses. Blocked marmas are removed in Ayurveda through applying pressure, massage oils, warmth, external use of herbal and aromatic oils, and sound therapy. Marmas are key points to focus on while performing ayurvedic massage. Participants in this course will learn: Certificate will be issued after successful completion of training.
