Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic full-body massage performed with warm, herb-infused oils applied in rhythmic, synchronized strokes. It serves both as a deeply relaxing therapeutic treatment and a foundational self-care practice in Ayurveda. Abhyanga is designed to nourish bodily tissues, calm the nervous system, support healthy circulation, and restore overall energetic balance.

The therapeutic warm herbal massage is done in a soft, rhythmic way about sixty minutes. After the massage, a steam bath or hot shower is highly recommended. Abhyanga massage is a deeply relaxing, rejuvenating experience. Done regularly, Abhyanga protects one from stress, anxiety, exhaustion and Vata (neuro-muscular) imbalances. It nourishes the body, extends the life span, provides good sleep, improves the skin’s texture, improves vision and provides better physical stability.

Abhyanga warm herbal oil massage therapy is the best way to control and balance Vata in the body. Vata is the predominant entity in the sense of touch, and skin is the organ of touch. Warm herbal oil massage therapy focusing on aligning the deep layers of muscles and connective tissue (called fascia) through kneading and applying slow, intense pressure. Acute Illness & Infection
• Not recommended during fever, acute infections, diarrhea, or active digestive disturbances

Specific Medical Conditions
• Should be avoided in cases of severe inflammatory joint disorders (e.g., advanced rheumatoid arthritis), open wounds, or unexplained skin lesions or masses

Post-Detox Considerations
• Not advised immediately after strong purgative or cleansing therapies (e.g., Virechana or other intensive detox protocols) without professional guidance
