Ayurvedic Practitioner (AP) – 1000-Hour Certification Program

The Global Ayurveda Academy, USA offers a comprehensive 1000-hour Ayurvedic Practitioner (AP) Certification Program in a hybrid learning format that combines online theoretical instruction, in-person practical training, supervised classroom experiences, and guided self-study.

This professional certification program is approved by the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America (AAPNA) and accredited by the American Ayurvedic Certification and Credentialing Accreditation Council (AACCAC), USA.

Scope of Practice

An Ayurvedic Practitioner (AP) is trained to provide advanced Ayurvedic wellness guidance based on the classical principles of Ayurveda. Graduates of this program are qualified to:

  • Provide individualized Ayurvedic wellness consultations for clients experiencing functional imbalances.
  • Develop personalized health and wellness plans based on traditional Ayurvedic principles.
  • Assess Vikriti (current imbalances) using Ayurvedic assessment methods, including evaluation of the doshas, agni, ama, dhatus, malas, and srotas.
  • Recommend individualized diet, lifestyle modifications, daily and seasonal routines, yoga, meditation, pranayama, herbs, and oils according to Ayurvedic principles.
  • Educate clients about the prevention of disease and restoration of balance through natural Ayurvedic approaches.
  • Apply critical thinking and advanced Ayurvedic knowledge to analyze complex patterns of imbalance.
  • Present and discuss clinical case studies using classical Ayurvedic methodologies.
  • Serve as an Ayurvedic wellness coach, helping clients establish sustainable lifestyle practices that promote long-term health and well-being.

Professional Limitations

An Ayurvedic Practitioner:

  • Does not practice conventional medicine.
  • Does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prescribe for medical diseases.
  • Does not replace the services of licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Works within the scope of Ayurvedic wellness education and traditional Ayurvedic consultation.

This program prepares graduates to become highly qualified Ayurvedic wellness professionals capable of providing comprehensive, individualized Ayurvedic guidance while maintaining appropriate professional and ethical boundaries.
