Module 1: Ayurvedic Fundamentals & Marma Anatomy (6 Hours)

  • The Three Doshas in Bodywork: Identifying Vata, Pitta, and Kapha constitutional baselines to customize massage speed, pressure, and room environment.
  • Introduction to Marma Points: Locating the 107 vital energy points on the body and understanding how gentle, localized pressure stimulates structural and energetic clearing.
  • Srotas and Lymphatics: Studying the physiological pathways (Srotas) involved in fluid circulation, cellular waste removal, and tissue nutrition.

Module 2: Abhyanga (Ayurvedic Warm Oil Massage) (6 Hours)

  • Technique and Stroke Mechanics: Mastering the traditional, synchronized, rhythmic sequences (Abhyanga) that move from the scalp to the soles of the feet.
  • Therapist Body Mechanics: Implementing specific stance shifts (warrior and archer stances) to handle high-friction, repetitive oil application without fatiguing joints.
  • Draping and Safety Protocols: Managing advanced modesty draping parameters when working with large volumes of warm, specialized herbal oils.

Module 3: Specialized Technical Modalities (6 Hours)

  • Garshana (Dry Lymphatic Brushing): Utilizing raw silk gloves to perform invigorating friction treatments that exfoliate skin, stimulate sluggish lymph flow, and prep tissues for oil absorption.
  • Udvartana (Herbal Paste / Powder Massage): Applying specialized herbal powders or pastes using upward, deep rubbing techniques to target deep connective tissues and stimulate circulation.
  • Shirodhara Introduction: Reviewing the foundational setups, temperature maintenance, and safety boundaries for streaming warm oil gently over the forehead (Ajna Marma).

Module 4: Pharmacology of Oils, Setup, & Ethics (6 Hours)

  • Mahanarayan and Herbalized Oils: Selecting base carrier oils (sesame, coconut, sunflower) infused with traditional therapeutic botanicals based on client tissue needs.
  • Equipment Mastery & Sanitation: Proper preparation, heating, clean-up, and chemical sanitation protocols for specialized wooden tables, steam boxes, and oil liners.
  • NCBTMB Scope of Practice Compliance: Setting clear professional boundaries regarding the strict prohibition of diagnosing diseases, conducting internal medical evaluations, or making internal herbal prescriptions.
